XI Jinping
The Chinese head of state XI Jinping has congratulated President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on his election victory. The announcement appeared in the Telegram-channel “Pool first”.
The leader of China thus became the first foreign head of state to recognize the results of the Belarusian elections. The first President, in General, respond to the situation, became the leader of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. He urged the parties to dialogue and refrain from violence.
Mass protests in Minsk and other Belarusian cities began after the completion of voting at the election of the President of the Republic, the final day, which took place on 9 August. According to the interim data of the CEC, the acting head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, gaining more than 80 percent of the vote, opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovski — only 9 percent. Citizens do not believe in the victory of Lukashenko, who is running for a sixth term and has been ruled since 1994.
