WSJ: Trump expects social media royalties to post him

by alex

Former US President Donald Trump is in talks with at least two social media developers about his possible placement, according to The Wall Street Journal. Mr Trump expects companies interested in hosting him to pay him for the followers he can bring them.

One WSJ source said the former president “wants money first, like royalties,” and is not taking a stake in the business. Among the social networks with whose owners Donald Trump negotiated, the newspaper names the networks CloutHub and FreeSpace. In total, according to the publication, Mr. Trump held more than 20 meetings with his team about the new social network.

Twitter, Facebook and other social media blocked Donald Trump in January after his supporters attacked the Capitol building. On May 5, Facebook's supervisory board ordered an extension of the block, but at the same time develop a clearer response policy within six months.

After the blocking, Mr. Trump promised that he would leave for new social platforms. In May, a section with short messages similar to Twitter posts appeared on Donald Trump's website. Donald Trump spokesman Jason Miller told the WSJ that this section is not the new social network that the former president talked about and more information on the network will be announced shortly. Twitter has blocked an account that was reposting posts from the section.
