Writer Guram Dochanashvili died in Georgia at the age of 83
The writer Guram Dochanashvili died in Georgia. He died in one of the Tbilisi clinics at the age of 82, reports the Georgian TV channel Rustavi-2.
The writer has been in the hospital for the past two weeks. On the eve of his heart stopped, but the doctors managed to start it. When a vital organ stopped working a second time, the doctors were powerless.
Guram Dochanashvili was born in Tbilisi on March 26, 1939. In 1962 he graduated from the Faculty of History of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Among his famous works – the socio-philosophical novel “I will give you three times”, as well as the stories “Song without words”, “A man who loved literature”, “Over the mountain”.
He was awarded the national literary prize “Saba” for his special contribution to the development of literature. In 2020, the writer was recognized as an honorary citizen of Tbilisi.
