The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that there are 100 million people infected with coronavirus in the world. This is stated on the website of the organization.
According to the WHO, 100 200 107 people are infected with coronavirus infection. More than 2.1 million people have died from complications from COVID-19 pneumonia. Most infected in the United States – 25 million people. In second place is India with 10.7 million, followed by Brazil – there are about 9 million infected. In Russia, 3.7 million are infected.
Earlier, the WHO spoke about the paradox of a pandemic: on the one hand, the start of vaccination gives the world hope for an early end to the pandemic. At the same time, new, often more infectious, mutations of the virus are emerging, which leads to tougher restrictive measures.
The Johns Hopkins University project, leading statistics on the COVID-19 pandemic, wrote about 100 million infections back on January 26.
