The changes will affect more than 125 thousand employers and more than a million foreign workers.
The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy of Poland is finalizing work on a draft of a new law providing for major changes in the rules for the employment of foreigners. The document is currently undergoing public discussion and may enter into force on January 1, 2025.
This is reported by “InPoland”.
After the public discussion, the bill will be submitted to the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers for consideration, and then to the government for approval.
The main innovation of this draft is the mandatory conclusion of an employment contract with foreign workers receiving a work permit. Contracts of assignment will remain available only for seasonal workers.
Thus, registration of a declaration on the assignment of work to a foreigner will be possible only if an employment contract is concluded. This provision is enshrined in Articles 28 and 59 of the draft, which determine the conditions for issuing permits to foreigners.
The main objectives of the innovation are to strengthen the protection of the rights of foreign workers, regulate the labor market and simplify the procedures for employment for seasonal and permanent work.
Recall that in Poland, a 23-year-old Ukrainian woman was accused of cruelty to animals and sexual violence.
