Ukraine and the United States are discussing the possibility of transferring military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which was previously intended for Afghanistan. Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova answered questions about this process.
According to the ambassador, today the question arose about what the Armed Forces needed.
– We are actively working now, and the Minister (Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov – Ed.) spoke about this during his visit , the issue is also being actively discussed, – said Markarova.
She added that today the question is not what Ukraine can get, but what the Ukrainian Armed Forces needs. The ambassador clarified that work on expanding the list of military assistance from the United States continues.
Recall that Oksana Markarova spoke about the direct assistance that the United States will provide through its budget, in addition to the planned $ 300 million.
She stated that another part of the interaction between the United States and Ukraine is the intensification in the field of military-technical cooperation. This second part of the help contains weapons, Javelin and more.
