Plywood models of combat jeeps and tanks will not be able to move independently on the ground, and specially trained drivers will not be able to drive them either. Copies of combat vehicles will be used in the exercises.
According to the authors of the idea, such homemade products will reduce the cost of conducting training battles without compromising their realism, since the models exactly repeat the dimensions of the original machines. In addition, layouts are easier to move from place to place due to their lighter weight and compactness.
The disadvantage of such products is their strength and fire resistance. But it seems that the Pentagon is seriously concerned about cost savings. Perhaps also because billions of dollars spent on arming the Afghan army, as well as units of the US military stationed in Afghanistan for more than two decades, have been wasted. Also, in the course of a hasty flight from Afghanistan, the Americans hastily left a colossal amount of military equipment and weapons in this country. According to experts, a considerable part of lethal types of weapons, grenades, mines and ammunition will in the very near future appear on the shadow arms market and fall into the hands of terrorist groups.
