RIA Novosti reported that Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov was shown the Russian operating system RED OS at the Army-2021 exhibition, which was called the answer to Windows.
The operating system was launched on a system with a Russian processor “Baikal-M”. He was enclosed in a stationary personal computer case.
Borisov was told that the developers of the operating system are already ready to “replace Western technologies in the companies of the military-industrial complex.”
“RED OS” is an operating system based on the Linux kernel. The manufacturer's website states that the operating system is distinguished from others by “technological independence and sanctional stability.” The operating system is intended for group and corporate use, automation of information, design and production processes of enterprises. It complies with domestic data protection requirements
