Sysadmins will have to manually update employees' computers to Windows 11. According to the authors of the study, which was conducted by the agency Lansweeper, this can turn into a “headache.” They noted that the automatic installation of Windows 11 on servers is almost impossible because 98% of server hardware does not meet the minimum system requirements.
As reported by Techradar, experts analyzed 30 million workstations in 60,000 organizations. It turned out that only 44.4% of computers are ready for the upgrade to Windows 11.
Automatic updates are only possible if the processor, RAM, and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) of the device meet the requirements. It is noted that only half of the computers had a working cryptographic TPM module required to install the OS, 0.23% had an activated TPM module. Only 66.4% of computers have enough RAM for correct operation.
At the same time, the life cycle of Windows 10 has been extended until 2025, that is, companies have about four years to make the transition.
Earlier, “Secret” wrote that the American corporation Microsoft presented the Windows 11 operating system and gadgets that will work on its basis.
