Microsoft is quietly ditching Flash Player for all versions of Windows 10. An optional update that removes support for the technology is available for download in February. Now it became known when such a mandatory update will be released.
This will happen with the Patch Tuesday security update. In 2020, Microsoft explained that Flash Player will be removed in stages. The company first discontinued support for Adobe Flash Player in its browsers (Edge and Internet Explorer 11), then rolled out an optional Flash killer update for the system (KB4577586).
In July, Microsoft will release a must-have update that removes the Flash Player from everyone. Windows 10 version 21H1, also known as the May Update, is expected to be the first OS version to ship without Adobe Flash Player.
