Microsoft has acknowledged issues with current Windows updates. This is reported by the Windows Latest edition.
According to user reviews on the company's official forum and Reddit, problems occur after installing updates KB4598299 and KB4598301. These updates are intended for new versions of OS – 20H2, 2004 and 1909. According to reports, in some cases, owners of copies of Windows observe a system reboot and the appearance of a “blue screen of death” (BSoD, Blue Screen of Death).
Experts have noticed that system errors are often associated with updating the .NET Framework – this particular component can lead to the appearance of BSoD. Crashes also occur when using Visual Studio, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and other built-in Windows services.
The company has already responded to Windows 10-related issues. A publication appeared on the official Microsoft forum, according to which technicians have already studied the sources of the crashes and are working on fixing the problems. The release dates for system updates were not disclosed.
Until Microsoft fixed the problem, journalists recommended rolling back from KB4598299 or KB4598301 to previous OS versions. To do this, you need to go to the Windows Control Panel, select the problematic update and uninstall it. After all the operations done, restart the PC.
Previously, IT experts discovered a link that could break Windows on any computer. The crash occurs when the OS tries to process the path to a specific Windows component bypassing the file system. In this case, a “blue screen of death” occurs.
