After the May update, Windows 10 started having audio problems. They also apply to games.
We are talking about a patch on Tuesdays, namely about update number 10 KB5003173, which was released on May 11 for versions 20H2 and 2004. It seems that the problems appear randomly. Some users say that their game sound has deteriorated. Microsoft Edge is fine, though.
People complain that the sound is played quieter than usual, disappears, there are extraneous noises. Some users did a rollback with a system restore to get rid of the problem.
It is reported that Microsoft is aware of the problems, which means that we can expect bug fixes in June.
