Pope Francis after a wave of criticism due to for a “white flag for Ukraine” again called for peace negotiations and an end to the war.

In his speech, the Pope mentioned “the suffering peoples of Ukraine and the Holy Land, Palestine and Israel, who are suffering greatly from the horror of war.”
“And let us never forget that war is always a defeat. In a state of war it is impossible to move forward. We must make every effort to negotiate to end the war. We pray for this “, said the pontiff.

Recall that Pope Francis recently got into a scandal because he said that he considered it a “courageous act” to raise the “white flag” and begin negotiations with Russia with the participation of international mediators.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, for its part, invited a representative of the Vatican “on the carpet” because of such statements by the Pope.
