The Estonian Prime Minister confirmed that she discussed this issue with President Vladimir Zelensky.
Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas assured that Ukrainians who are in this country and follow the rules will not be sent to Ukraine.
She reported this in an interview with The Kyiv Independent.
“We will definitely not do anything on our part to hand these people over. It is up to Ukraine to contact the people here and ask them to return to help their homeland,” Kallas said.
The Estonian Prime Minister confirmed that she had discussed this issue with President Vladimir Zelensky during his recent visit to Tallinn.
“President Zelensky said that there are people who are on the battlefield, and there are people who pay taxes to Ukraine so that you can finance the soldiers who are on the battlefield. But there are also people who are in other countries, like Estonia,” she said.
We recall that earlier the Minister of Internal Affairs of Estonia, Lauri Läänemetsa, stated that in response to an appeal from the Ukrainian authorities in this country, they could search for certain people and extradite them to Ukraine. The location of all Ukrainian refugees is known to the Estonian authorities.
