Zarema Umarova, the widow of the Chechen blogger Mamikhan (Anzor) Umarov, who was killed in Austria, said that the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, had sent a killer to her house in an attempt to eliminate her. The woman's appeal is published by the Telegram channel 1ADAT.
According to Zarema, the Austrian authorities banned her from distributing video recordings and audio messages, in connection with which she was forced to contact the Telegram channel. For example, a woman turned to human rights organizations from different countries, including Russia, stating that she was receiving threats from the moment she publicly cursed Kadyrov for killing her husband.
“I have been silent until now, as these were just threats. But quite recently, a man tried to break into me, I managed to slam the door and immediately began to call the police. This person instantly disappeared, I did not remember the face, because he was wearing a mask, ”Umarova said (the author's spelling and punctuation are preserved).
The woman said that the only person who wants her death is the head of Chechnya. “I officially declare that Ramzan Kadyrov sent a killer to eliminate me for criticizing him,” she concluded, asking to blame the Chechen leader for everything if something happens to her.
Umarova noted that she installed CCTV cameras near her house and intends to monitor everyone who approaches. In addition, she appealed personally to Kadyrov, stressing that she was not afraid and would do everything to call him to account in the event of her death.
Earlier, Zarema Umarova in a video message called Kadyrov a dirty creature and illegitimate, and also accused him of murdering her husband and reprisals against the Chechen people “with the help of the Russians.” The widow said that she would wait for people from the head of the republic to stab them, and wished the head of Chechnya “to follow his father” (meaning Akhmat Kadyrov, the first president of Chechnya, died on May 9, 2004 as a result of a terrorist attack at a stadium in Grozny – approx. “Lenta.ru” ).
The murder of Umarov became known in early July. An opposition blogger seeking asylum in Austria was shot by an unknown person. Representatives of the Chechen diaspora believe that the head of Chechnya could have been involved in the crime, since Umarov often criticized him. Kadyrov himself accused foreign special services of the blogger's murder – in his opinion, they are working against him and Russia as a whole.
Later, his relatives from the village of Mesker-Yurt in Chechnya claimed responsibility for the murder of Umarov.
