Why the Internet does not work: common problems and solutions

• In many cases, a simple restart of the computer or smartphone, as well as the router, can help. This removes errors in the cache. To do this, completely disconnect the router from the power supply. Wait about 10 seconds, then reconnect the device to the mains. If you do not wait at least 10 seconds, doing so may damage the router.
• If, despite this, you still do not have access to the Internet, try connecting on a different device. If that works, then the problem is not with the internet, but with the faulty gadget.
• Also try connecting your computer to the router using a LAN cable. If you got access to the Network in this way, then the error is in the settings in Wi-Fi, and not in the connection itself. Deleting Wi-Fi profiles can help, after which you will need to re-establish a connection to the network.
• In rare cases, antivirus software or additionally installed firewalls can cause connection problems. Disable these applications briefly to exclude them as a source of errors.
• If the problem persists, check the router and proxy settings on your computer. The “Use a proxy server for the local network” option should be disabled in case of problems with Wi-Fi.

If the tips above didn't help and your internet connection still doesn't work, contact your ISP directly.

Provider interference

If you still have not resolved the problem, contact your internet service provider. The technical support service will be able to centrally check if everything is currently in order with your port and router.

Before contacting your provider, make sure this is not a general problem. If you see several thousand error messages on the operator's website, this is probably a more global problem. Then, unfortunately, only one thing will help – to be patient. In this case, even customer support cannot help you. So there is no need to “stay on the line waiting for the operator to answer.”
