Hungary needs to prove that it will take the right position.
The visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Ukraine is related to preliminary incorrect statements addressed to Ukraine. There may have been political pressure behind the scenes in the EU on the politician to radically reconsider and change his approach to Ukraine.
People's Deputy, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Alexander Merezhko said this on the telethon.
As you know, Orban questioned the sovereignty of Ukraine as a state, this is absolutely unacceptable. And his actions, attempts to block assistance to Ukraine during aggression, in very difficult times for us, are absolutely unacceptable, including for the European Union, which understands that Ukraine is now fighting and defending the European Union, including Hungary.
“Moreover, we are talking about the fact that this is a really important symbolic event when Hungary will preside over the Council of the EU. It is necessary to prove that Hungary will take the right position, will be on the right side of history in relation to Ukraine, and will not abuse his position during this period,” – the people’s deputy noted.
Orban says he supports modernizing Ukraine's economy. This is an important issue for the restoration of Ukraine.
“There are very positive examples – Estonia has now taken an active part in the restoration of the Zhitomir region Denmark ~. 60~strong>– Mykolaiv region These are positive examples that Hungary should imitate. It must be proven in practice that it supports. Ukraine”, – summed up Merezhko.
Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Kyiv on the morning of July 2. His motorcade arrived at the Hungarian Embassy.
