World Health Organization (WHO) director of global epidemic preparedness Sylvie Brand said that the organization does not have clear data on how many booster doses may be needed to protect the human body from coronavirus. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“We don’t know if omicron will lead to a long covid. We hope not, as we observe less dangerous complications than with infection with other strains, ”Brand emphasized.
According to a WHO representative, the organization is considering three scenarios for the development of the situation in the world. The first suggests that the virus will continue to be highly contagious but less dangerous. At the same time, WHO has not yet determined how many vaccinations will be needed for complete protection, the specialist added.
