New and alarming strains of coronavirus will continue to emerge and spread around the world. A representative of the European Bureau of the World Health Organization (WHO) warned about this in an interview with Lenta.ru.
The organization noted that in this regard, it is necessary to ensure the vaccination of priority groups, as well as to comply with all necessary measures to contain the coronavirus. At the same time, connivance, along with the spread of new strains of coronavirus, could lead to a jump in cases across the European region.
“We understand that people are tired of this pandemic, but we must not lose our vigilance as it is not over yet. Each of us must continue to contribute by building on the successes achieved to date, ”the WHO stressed.
Earlier, the organization said that the Indian strain of the coronavirus, which is called the delta variant or B.1.617, is likely to become dominant in the world. It has also been reported that this type of virus can manifest with four new dangerous symptoms: diarrhea, hearing impairment, severe stomach upset and blood clots leading to gangrene.
