WHO tackled a new version of the emergence of coronavirus

The World Health Organization (WHO) has tackled a new version of the emergence of coronavirus in another seafood market in the Chinese city of Wuhan. This was reported by three experts from the organization who were investigating in Wuhan, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Members of an international group of experts told the publication that during their trip they met with the alleged “zero patient”, from which the spread of the virus could begin. A resident of Wuhan named Chen fell ill on December 8, 2019. His case and recent data have led scientists to conclude that the virus may have been spreading in the city before the outbreak in the Huanan market.

Patient Zero said that neither he nor his loved ones visited the Huanan seafood market, which was previously thought to be the source of the virus. However, the man added that his parents were shopping at another market. The experts were unable to find out what kind of market it was, and to obtain any additional information.

An outbreak of pneumonia COVID-19 caused by a novel coronavirus was first recorded in December 2019 in Wuhan. Initially, it was believed that the source of the new infection was the seafood market. At the same time, the WHO stated that it did not have verified information that this market was indeed the source of the coronavirus.
