The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the incidence of coronavirus in the world is growing for the ninth week in a row.
During the briefing, he said that the pandemic is becoming “more and more intense.”
“The number of cases is growing for the ninth week in a row, and the number of deaths for the sixth week in a row,” Gebreyesus was quoted by TASS.
The head of WHO also said that over the past week, almost as many cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded as in the first five months of the pandemic.
Earlier, the WHO reported that more than 144 million cases of coronavirus have been recorded since the start of the pandemic.
