The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus praised Russia's investment in science after the creation of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. He wrote about this on Twitter.
“I had a constructive telephone conversation with Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko about the response to COVID-19 globally and in Russia, as well as the Sputnik V vaccine and the process of being included in the WHO list of emergency drugs. I appreciate Russia's investment in science, ”the message says.
The Russian department recalled that the drug forms a stable immunity to coronavirus and has no serious side effects.
The Sputnik V vaccine has become the second most popular coronavirus vaccine in the world. The first place in terms of the number of approvals was given to the drug AstraZeneca, licensed in 49 countries. The third line is occupied by Pfizer – 43 countries have approved the vaccine.
