So, last week there were 2.4 million new cases, which is 11 percent less than in the previous week. In addition, the number of new deaths has continued to decline over the past three weeks, with almost 66,000 new deaths recorded last week, down 20 percent from the previous week.
According to the WHO, new strains of coronavirus infection continue to spread. The British strain has already been found in 101 countries, the South African strain in 51 countries, and the Brazilian strain in 29.
