WASHINGTON, April 13. / TASS /. The White House demanded that all US government departments immediately install the released Exchange Server software update from Microsoft, and also urged all other users to do the same due to existing vulnerabilities. This is stated in the statement released on Tuesday by the Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Ann Nyberger.

“Microsoft today released a set of key updates for the Exchange software. We urge all Exchange Server owners and users Microsoft to install these updates immediately. The US government will lead by example – we require all departments to immediately install updates on their Exchange servers,” she said.

“If these vulnerabilities lead to a larger incident, we will work with the private sector to resolve it,” Nyberger added.

In early March, at least 60 thousand organizations and companies in the United States were hacked due to vulnerabilities in Microsoft Exchange Server. The US administration has not yet been able to name those who, it believes, are responsible for the cyberattack through these loopholes. After the attacks, the corporation was identified as one of the main recipients of federal assistance allocated by the US government to improve the security of computer networks in the country. Microsoft is expected to receive $ 150 million.
