White House asks Congress for $6.4 billion to help Ukraine

Bloomberg: US administration asked Congress for $6.4 billion for the needs of Ukraine and the Pentagon

The White House has asked the US Congress for $6.4 billion to help Ukraine, other countries, and the Pentagon. It is reported by TASS with reference to the Bloomberg agency.

It is noted that of this amount, the United States administration will direct 2.9 billion to provide humanitarian assistance to Kiev and assistance in the field of security. Also, the funds will be transferred to the authorities of the Baltic States, Poland and others, their intended purpose is to stabilize the economic situation and purchase food.

Another $3.5 billion is planned to be allocated to the Pentagon in connection with the events in Ukraine. The White House's request is expected to likely win support from Democrats and Republicans.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that Washington would continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine. He also stated that the United States did not intend to go to war with Russia and promised to protect every inch of NATO territory. Biden stressed that Washington will follow the obligations it has to the North Atlantic Alliance.
