Where exactly is Yelets located?
The city is located approximately 340 kilometers south of Moscow and 100 kilometers northwest of Lipetsk. The distance from Yelets to the Ukrainian border is approximately 350 to 400 kilometers.
Lipetsk Region itself borders Kursk, Oryol, Tula, Ryazan, Tambov and Voronezh Regions. It is known that this region is often attacked by drones.

It is here that the large chemical enterprise PAO Energia is located, which is under sanctions from many countries. The plant's products are used, in particular, in the defense industry, civil aviation and maritime transport.
Russian media reported explosions in the area of the facility on the night of July 3. According to preliminary information, one of the drones hit the asphalt near the facility, causing a fire to break out on the territory of the plant itself.
