In addition to Ukraine and Israel, assistance will be considered for Taiwan, and will also be used to strengthen the US border.

The only national security package containing aid to Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan and strengthening the US border will be considered in the House of Representatives after Thanksgiving, which is celebrated on November 23 in 2023.

CNN reports this with reference to a statement by Senate Majority Leader Democrat Chuck Schumer.

Schumer expressed hope that all four requests of the president (Biden – ed.) will be approved.

“Ukraine, Israel, humanitarian aid and the Indo-Pacific region,” Schumer said.

He said there are Democrats and Republicans in the House who are working together to develop a border security package that has bipartisan support.

“But we have to do it, and as soon as we get back after Thanksgiving, it will be a very important priority. All four (requests – ed.) must receive bipartisan support in the House of Representatives. Bottom line,” Schumer said.

Regarding House GOP efforts to break up the package into smaller individual bills, Schumer said bipartisan support for all four requests is needed and he will work hard to achieve that.

The other day, The Washington Post published an article stating that the US Congress’s interest in financing Ukraine’s fight against the Russian Federation has fallen lower than ever.
