The presidents of Ukraine and the United States will discuss in a telephone conversation the holding of the next meeting of the Contact Group in the “Ramstein” format.
The meeting of Ukraine's allies in the “Ramstein” format at the level of state leaders is expected to take place in November. But the exact date has not yet been determined.
This was announced by the representative of the US presidential administration Karine Jean-Pierre on Wednesday, October 16, at a briefing at the White House.
She noted that, probably, right now the presidents of Ukraine and the United States are having a telephone conversation, during which the leaders will discuss the date of a new meeting in the Rammstein format.
“The two leaders will also discuss the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's defense at the leaders' level, which will take place next month, to continue to provide Ukraine with the support it needs to win this conflict. We will hear the results of this telephone conversation soon, as well as additional information about the military assistance package,” Jean-Pierre said.
She did not clarified whether the new meeting would take place at the German air base “Ramstein” and whether another location would be chosen. However, later the White House announced that in November 2024, President Biden would hold a virtual meeting at the level of the leaders of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine.
Joe Biden will still visit Germany on an unofficial visit, but the White House has shortened the trip to one day. The US President is scheduled to meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
