He said that French President Emmanuel Macron is making loud statements, unlike German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is afraid to transfer Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
“It is obvious that at the meeting of the Weimar Triangle, Macron, Scholz and Tusk agreed on the topics of discussion. However, it is obvious that they failed to agree on everything,” says Chaly.
He noted that statements by European officials about preventing escalation have already become inappropriate.
“European leaders must step up assistance to Ukraine. Because today we only hear loud statements about maximum assistance against the backdrop of information from German intelligence about Russian plans to attack NATO countries in 2026. And I would like to point out that they are not everyone takes this information into account. I believe that Russia will attack NATO countries at the end of this year at the beginning of next year, since Russia attacks not when it is strong, but when others are weak. The Europeans will not have time to prepare by the end of 2024. this. And statements about preventing escalation, frankly speaking, this is already yesterday’s speech,” he added.
