Messenger WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows you to send disappearing photo and video messages. They can be viewed only once, after which they will be deleted.
Disappearing messages will be marked with a special round icon with a unit in the middle. After viewing the message, the label “open” will appear, and it will no longer be available. Such files will not be saved in the photo and gallery, and they cannot be forwarded. They will be available for 14 days after shipment, after which they will disappear. WhatsApp claims that the new feature will help users better control the security of their chat, for example, if they need to send a photo with a password or other sensitive information.
In November 2020, WhatsApp introduced disappearing text messages. When this mode is enabled, messages will disappear from the chat after seven days. The company believes that a week is the best time when you can refresh your memory of previous correspondence, the need for which will disappear over time, for example, if you need to remember the address of a store or look at a list of products to buy.
