WhatsApp began to restrict functions for a number of users

Messenger WhatsApp began to block functions from users who did not accept the new privacy policy, RIA Novosti writes.

Under the new rules, adopting the new policy of the messenger owned by the American company Facebook, the user transfers his phone number, IP address, transaction details and other information to the company. The text of the agreement states that “WhatsApp, as part of the Facebook corporation, will share with its entire family of applications the necessary information about the user to analyze his habits and tastes.”

The new agreement was published back in January, but was sharply criticized, and many users switched to other messengers. The company has postponed implementation of the agreement until May 15th.

The company's website also says that after a few weeks, the offer to accept the agreement will become irrevocable, and in case of refusal to accept the agreement, the user will be deprived of the opportunity to send text and voice messages. The chat history can be exported, but if there is no activity after 120 days, the account will be deleted.

Earlier it became known that the British counterintelligence service MI5 opened an Instagram account.
