Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has called on European leaders to find financial resources to support Ukraine.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen commented on the cessation of arms supplies, expressing hope that the United States will continue to support Ukraine, and through Ukraine, support Europe.

She stated this during a conversation with the media together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen on July 3.

“I think it is important to tell all partners that the war in Ukraine did not concern only Ukraine, it concerns all of Europe. And that is why, if we want to protect Europe, Ukraine and NATO, we must be sure that Ukraine receives the assistance it needs. We certainly hope that the United States will continue to support Ukraine and, through Ukraine, support Europe,” the Prime Minister said.

She assured that in case of “gaps,” Ukraine’s European partners will make efforts to provide support.

“If there are any gaps, I personally believe that we should make every effort to fill them… I am proud of the cooperation that we have in production in Ukraine,” she said.

The Danish Prime Minister also spoke about the next steps of European leaders to support Ukraine.

“I want to convey to other leaders in Europe that you have more potential for production than we do. But I am confident that you will be able to produce critical equipment in Ukraine if we can find the financial means to do so. So I think that is the next step for Europe,” she said.

Let us recall that the head of the European Commission , Ursula von der Leyen , as well as the Prime Minister of Denmark, emphasized that supporting Ukraine with weapons is a priority, and the necessary financial instruments exist for this.
