Donald Trump declared himself president and made important statements. Trump proclaimed loud slogans throughout the election campaign. Let's remember what the odious politician said about Ukraine and the Russian war.

Trump won?
Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the US presidency, has won the lead in all key states in the election and, according to preliminary forecasts, has secured the necessary 270 electoral votes, beating the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. This is reported on the pages of The Hill.
“Becoming the first president in over 120 years to lose the White House and then come back and win again since President Grover Cleveland in 1892”
Trump himself and his staff are already celebrating their victory. The odious politician even made his first statement, where he said that he would return America to its golden era.
Trump on Ukraine and the war
Trump has made many statements about Ukraine in his time, in particular, about the Russian-Ukrainian war. But let's start with what Trump was saying about himself, though referring to another president.
Also, on the eve of the full-scale invasion, Republican Donald Trump expressed admiration for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin when he decided to recognize the so-called L/DPR, calling it a “brilliant” move.
“Yesterday I turned on the TV and said: This is brilliant! Putin declares a large part of Ukraine independent”
The Republican then declared that the Kremlin leader's decision was “the strongest peacekeeping force”.
“So Putin is now calling a large chunk of Ukraine “independent”. How smart is that! He intends to go in there and be a peacekeeper. This is the strongest peacekeeping force I have ever seen. This guy is very smart. I know him very well.” Very, very good”
And already at the stage of the 2024 election race for the presidential seat, Trump will say that Putin would never have attacked Ukraine if he were president. Trump also claimed that he stopped wars with phone calls.
Trump also said that both presidents, Zelensky and Putin, “respect” him, and that Trump himself knows both the Ukrainian and Russian leaders well, and that he has good relations with the latter.
Despite such complimentary statements, Trump spoke about Zelensky quite sharply. He called him the best seller, meaning that the Ukrainian leader receives military and financial assistance for Ukraine from the United States. Although, perhaps, this was a compliment towards the Ukrainian president?
However, after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the Republican changed his attitude towards the actions of Putin and Russia in general. In his public speeches, when Trump spoke about Ukraine, he emphasized that there would not have been a war between the countries if he had continued to lead the White House. In addition, at one of the rallies, Trump accused Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris of the fact that because of their decisions, I quote: “Ukraine no longer exists.” Then he said he would “settle the war in Ukraine” and “end the chaos in the Middle East” because the world was “very close to World War III.”
“Biden and Kamala got us into a war in Ukraine, and now they can't get us out. They can't. I've been watching him: “We're going to get out, we're going to get out, we're going to get out.” He's been saying that for three years.”
At the same time, during the debate with US President Joe Biden, Trump said that he did not consider Putin's peace conditions acceptable. The Republican also stated that in a conversation with Putin, he allegedly threatened to strike Moscow if Russia “went to Ukraine.” Putin himself noted that he “does not remember such a conversation.” Trump's mention of the role of the United States in supporting Kyiv deserves special attention. Both the Republican himself and his allies have in the past been unhappy with how much the United States spends on aid to Ukraine. At the same time, they argued that European countries should take on most of this burden. It is noteworthy that the odious politician and businessman Trump has repeatedly accused Biden of the war in Ukraine, insisted that resources are running out and once again emphasized that only he can stop the war.
In an interview with Fox News in July 2023, Trump noted that he would try to push Russian President Putin to negotiate by threatening to open channels of aid to Ukraine. Conversely, he said that he would put pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky by threatening to stop providing aid.
“I would say to Zelensky, 'Enough. You have to make a deal.' I would say to Putin, 'If you don't make a deal, we will give Zelensky a lot. We will give Ukraine more than they have ever had, if we have to. I will make a deal in one day. In one day.'”
After meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Donald Trump said that Russia's war against Ukraine must be ended through a “fair agreement.” This is reported by The Guardian. According to Trump, in the context of Russia's war against Ukraine, he wants a “fair agreement for everyone.” He also noted that he “learned a lot” at the meeting with Zelensky. And on September 24, 2024, Donald Trump said that the United States needs to withdraw from the war in Ukraine and promises to do so if he wins the election. Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden have no plan to stop the war, he said.
“Biden and Kamala got us into this war in Ukraine, and now they can't get us out. I think we're going to be stuck in this war unless I'm president. I will. I'll negotiate, I'll get out. We have to get out. Biden says, 'We're not going until we win.'
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, he said that in a conversation with Putin, he threatened to hit the center of Moscow for persecuting Ukraine. In other statements, Trump also accused Volodymyr Zelensky, saying that the Ukrainian president should not have allowed this war to begin. According to the Financial Times, citing Trump's advisers, he proposes to freeze the war by creating autonomous regions on both sides of the demilitarized zone and forcing Ukraine to abandon NATO membership. Otherwise, Kyiv is allegedly losing the war. Therefore, according to Trump's advisers, Ukraine should go, quote: “rethink the failed Minsk agreements” and wait for Putin to leave.” In fact, this is not some new plan that Ukraine has not heard about before. In mid-September, J.D. Vance publicly spoke about the “Trump peace plan” in one of his podcasts: Ukraine will remain an independent state, and Russia will receive guarantees of neutrality of Ukraine, which will not join NATO., proposals and initiatives do not take into account the answer to the main question: will the Kremlin want to freeze the war, if with the support of China, North Korea and Iran it can have the initiative on the battlefield?
As we can see, throughout the election campaign, Trump made rather ambiguous statements about Ukraine and the Russian war. We also repeatedly heard phrases from the American politician about how, if he wins the US elections, he will be able to resolve the conflict “in 24 hours” even before he becomes president after the inauguration. And here is another loud statement by Trump after he and his staff began to celebrate the victory in the 2024 US presidential elections.
“No more wars during my term. I am going to stop wars”
However, there is no official election result yet – the counting is ongoing. The electoral college will approve the decision to elect the 47th President of the United States in December 2024. The official inauguration is scheduled for January 20, 2025. By that time, the transfer of power will be taking place in the White House. It is noteworthy that the President of Ukraine has already congratulated Trump on his victory and expressed hope that under Trump's leadership the States will continue their strong bipartisan support for Ukraine.
“I congratulate Donald Trump on his stunning election victory! I recall our wonderful meeting with President Trump in September, when we discussed in detail the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, the Victory Plan, and ways to stop Russian aggression against Ukraine. I appreciate President Trump's commitment to the “through force” approach” in global affairs. It is this principle that can really bring a just peace to Ukraine. I hope that together we will bring it to life.”
Zelensky added that he expects an era of strong States under Trump's leadership and counts on further strong bipartisan support for Ukraine.
Quote: “We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our countries. Ukraine, as one of the strongest military powers in Europe, seeks to ensure long-term peace and security in Europe and the transatlantic community with the support of our allies.”
He also added that he was looking forward to the opportunity to personally greet Trump and discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States.
By the way, according to the deputy commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade Maksym Zhorin, the results of the election of the 47th president in the United States indicate that Ukraine must finally learn to rely on its own strength. In particular, in preparation for a difficult winter.
