Mikhail Podolyak is convinced that G20 summit the theme of the war in Ukraine will dominate.
At the G20 summit the theme of the war in Ukraine will dominate. Because whether anyone wants to talk about it or not, it is war today that lays the foundation for the new world order as such. At the same time, the fact that Ukraine was not invited to the summit “in principle does not affect the situation.”
This was stated by Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak on the telethon 8 September.
“There will be a difficult discussion at the G20 summit. And still, the topic of war in Ukraine will dominate. Because who wants to talk about it or not, it is war today that lays the foundation for a new world order as such… The world will not have such entities as Russia Others countries will also either have additional subjectivity or lose their subjectivity… Those countries that want to sit somewhere on the sidelines and not make appropriate decisions are making a big strategic mistake… Because today… both at the G20 and at the G7, and at other international platforms, the rules by which the world will live after the end of this war are being formed… Of course, it would be desirable for the position of the G20 countries to be consolidated in principle: a declaration or resolution would be adopted condemning Russia not even for the fact that it entered the sovereign territory of Ukraine, but for an absolutely conscious, deliberate, most aggressive violation of the basic and basic rules of international law in general,” he noted.
At the same time, according to Podolyak, the fact that Ukraine was not invited to the summit “in principle, does not affect the situation.”
“Because the president is quite active and has many international meetings and actively moderates the topic of war from the point of view of values that are important to us. And in general there are other countries, large countries (Great Britain, the United States, France, Germany, Japan) that constantly raise the topic of war and put the right emphasis… But this once again emphasizes that in the world Russia still spends a huge amount of resources in order to have certain opportunities to influence the assessment of the war. Russia is cautiously showing countries, for example, the global south, countries of the African continent or the Latin American continent: look, Russia still retains certain influences, so, of course, it would be desirable for Ukraine to be an invited guest at the summit, but meanwhile, the topic of war will still be moderated there in the way we want necessary,” summarized the adviser to the head of the President’s Office.
