The Autobusiness portal told the story of the Belarusian trucker Alexander, who tried to prove his case to the police in Austria, but almost ran into a fine of 800 euros (more than 71 thousand rubles).
Alexander was carrying cargo from Italy for an Austrian supermarket chain in a car with Estonian numbers. When working hours drew to a close, he started looking for parking and eventually stopped at the gas station.
“I closed my shift, went to the store, and then lay down to rest. After about 3-3.5 hours, already falling asleep, I heard a knock on the cockpit. He picked up, opened the curtains – no one. I lay down to rest again. After 3 minutes, the knock was repeated. I looked out again – a policeman was standing near the driver's door, ”said Alexander.
The policeman said that the driver violated the parking rules and asked him to leave, but Alexander did not agree with him – his car did not interfere with anyone and did not block anything, and there were no prohibition signs. He said he would not go anywhere as the driving and working hours were over.
The policeman got angry and demanded all of Alexander's documents – from passport and driving license to license and technical inspection. Further, according to the driver, “everything was out of control”: he was “drawn” a protocol with three violations and a fine of 225 euros. He said that he would not pay, after which there were six violations, and the amount of the fine increased to 800 euros.
“There was no limit to my indignation. Restraining my emotions, I answered them that it would be better if they arrest me – I am not going to pay, ”Alexander said.
As a result, he still managed to come to an agreement with the police, paid 150 euros and went to the unloading site at night, “violating the driver's work and rest regime, so strictly honored by the European guards of the law.”
“In the morning, having sent a copy of the protocol to my manager, I heard from him an answer: nothing specific was indicated in the points of violations, the fines were written out from the bulldozer!” – concluded Alexander and advised the Slavs “not to prove their innocence in a foreign country, even if they are right.”
As “Rambler” wrote, the actress Tatyana Lazareva told about her meeting with the European police earlier.
While traveling in Europe, she had problems with the border guards who almost deported her to Russia. Lazareva left for France, forgetting her passport with a visa in Spain. On the way back she was asked to show the document. The actress managed to avoid deportation only thanks to her friend, who told the police about “silly Russian stars”.
