China said it would continue to “stand on the side of equality and justice.”
Negotiations between US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping have not changed Beijing's position on the war in Ukraine.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Nina said this during a press conference on Thursday, November 16.
She said China “remains committed to promoting peace talks and de-escalation.”
“Indeed, the two presidents exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern, including the “crisis in Ukraine” (Russian attack – ed.) and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict (the war between Hamas and Israel – ed.). China's position on both issues clear and consistent . We stand on the side of equality and justice and remain committed to promoting peace negotiations and de-escalation,” she stressed.
She called the meeting between the two world leaders “fruitful.” She added that more than 20 general agreements were reached in political, diplomatic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, global governance, military affairs, security and other areas.
Let us remind you that earlier the White House reported that Biden would discuss the “Ukrainian issue” with his Chinese counterpart.
