Moscow. May 15. INTERFAX.RU – Brief summary of the events that took place in the morning:
– The Chinese probe landed on the surface of Mars. For the PRC, the Zhuzhong rover became the first spacecraft to land on another planet. As expected, the probe will be able to transmit the first data on the exploration of Mars already this year.
– From May 25, Russia will resume air traffic with five countries. Russians will be able to visit Iceland, Malta, Mexico, Portugal and Saudi Arabia. Decisions on the resumption of air traffic were taken with these countries on a reciprocal basis.
– VTimes decided to label their materials according to the law on foreign media agents. On May 14, the Ministry of Justice recognized the Dutch foundation Stiftung 2 Oktober, which administers the newspaper's website, as a media-foreign agent. VTimes notes that neither it nor the foundation is a media outlet in any jurisdiction.
– Israel continued to strike at targets of the Hamas movement. It also became known about the destruction of the office of the head of the group's security service in Gaza, which was used to manage its military infrastructure. Earlier, Hamas leader Khaled Mashal announced his readiness for a ceasefire.
– The son of the ex-head of Mordovia was arrested on charges of bribery. Alexey Merkushkin, according to the investigation, in 2015 gave a bribe in the amount of more than 7 million rubles to the manager of the branch of the National Bank for Mordovia of the Volgo-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. Merkushkin served as deputy chairman of the government of Mordovia and chairman of the board of directors of Mordovpromstroybank.
