Western leaders have said they want to resolve the crisis in Ukraine through diplomacy. This intention was reported in the press service of the White House.

It is known that the latest contacts with Russia were also discussed at the transatlantic videoconference between the United States, the European Union and NATO. Politicians noted the importance of coordinated efforts to contain “Russian aggression” against Ukraine. They allowed the introduction of additional sanctions and the strengthening of the eastern flank of NATO in the event of a military invasion.

Earlier it was reported that US President Joe Biden decided to have a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The conversation between the two leaders could take place amid fresh warnings of a potential conflict in Ukraine. The last time Biden and Putin had a telephone conversation was in December 2021.
