The Ukrainian President said that the Russians have already started lobbying their interests in negotiations with some of Ukraine's Western partners.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to international partners for their help and expressed the hope that the NATO, EU and G7 summits starting in Brussels will demonstrate further support for the Ukrainian state in its struggle for freedom.

He stated this during an address on Wednesday evening, 23 March.

The Ukrainian president recalled that on March 24, three summits important for the security of the whole world will be held in Brussels at once – NATO, the European Union and the G7.

“I am sure that people will demonstrate how they support us. But we must support freedom politicians. All of them. They must support the struggle for life. We are waiting for serious steps. From NATO, the EU and the G7,” Zelensky stressed.

The President also said that the Ukrainian authorities are aware that the Russians have already started lobbying their interests.

“These are the interests of the war. We know that they are working with some partners. We know that they want to extinguish this topic. The theme of the fight against war. But the war must be extinguished. At these three summits we will have a strong position. At these three summits we will see who is a friend, who is a partner, and who has sold out and betrayed,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

The President stressed that “freedom must be armed,” therefore NATO assistance for Ukraine must be effective and without restrictions, including weapons that the Ukrainian Armed Forces need.

“We asked the Alliance to declare that it will comprehensively help Ukraine win this war, clear our territory of invaders and restore peace in Ukraine,” he said.

Zelensky also stressed that the Ukrainian sky has never been made it safe from Russian missiles and air bombs.

“We never received aircraft and modern anti-missile weapons. We never received tanks, anti-ship weapons. Russian troops can still kill thousands of our people, destroy our cities “Simply because there are a lot of occupiers. Simply because Russia has been preparing for this shameful war for decades,” the president said.

The President of Ukraine also called on the people of the free world to work together to prevent Russia from “breaking” someone in NATO, the EU or the G7 and “drag to the side of the war.” “We'll see on March 24,” he said.

Recall, on Wednesday, March 23, US President Joe Biden arrived in Brussels for emergency talks with European leaders on the war in Ukraine. The American leader has plans for additional anti-Russian sanctions.
