Weather in the CIS and Georgia: Belarusian public utilities prepare for frosts, spring warm in Tbilisi
“Timofeevskie” frosts are coming to Moscow. The arrival of the cold coincides with St. Timothy's Day on February 4, hence the name. At the beginning of next week, the thermometer will drop to minus 27. And today in the Russian capital it is up to six frost and no precipitation. MIR 24 correspondents learned about the weather in the Commonwealth countries and Georgia.
Georgia
It is spring warm in Georgia. February presented an unusual temperature for winter. In Tbilisi it is up to plus 14, in Adjara – almost plus 20. Trees and shrubs will bloom. And residents take off their warm clothes and turn off heating devices in their homes. But forecasters warn: it is too early to clean down jackets and heaters. Winter will still remind of itself.
Belarus
During the day in Belarus, it is expected from three to nine degrees of frost. It will snow in the northwest of the country. It will get significantly colder at night: in some areas, the thermometer will show 20 degrees below zero. The capital's utilities are preparing for frost. Emergency teams have been formed that will work around the clock. In order to prevent damage to underground utilities, work that requires the excavation of deep trenches is temporarily not carried out.
