Weapons on credit: Polish government considers new way to help Ukraine

The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry said that his country will not shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine without NATO's approval.

The Polish government has made a proposal for a “defense loan” for Ukraine to purchase weapons.

About Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced this on the air of the Polsat News TV channel.

“This could have been done from the very beginning: please, buy from Polish factories on credit, and when you build it, you will give it back,” the Polish minister said.

At the same time, he called Poland a frontline country in this war, the only one among the EU and NATO countries whose neighbors are Russia and Ukraine.

“Ukraine understands that we must also contain Putin,” he added.

Sikorski emphasized that Poland has “its own defense needs,” so as a minister of the Polish government, he is obliged to “keep this war as far away from our borders”.

At the same time, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry added that his country will not shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine without NATO's approval.

“Poland will make a decision together with NATO. The decision has not yet been made,” he noted.

Recall that, commenting on Zelensky's words regarding Poland's refusal to transfer MiGs to Ukraine, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski pointed out the fact that Russia is also threatening Poland.
