Benyamin Netanyahu addressed the nation for the first time during the Jewish Shabbat.
On Saturday, October 14, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Kibbutz Be'eri and Kibbutz Kfar Azza, two border settlements near the Gaza Strip that were damaged during the bloody Hamas attack on October 7. During a meeting with the military, who were repelling the offensive of Palestinian militants here, he called on them to prepare for a “new stage.”
The Times of Israel reports this with reference to the prime minister’s office.
This first visit by the head of the Israeli government to the site of the fighting with Hamas was not announced in advance for security reasons. A short official statement after the visit said only that Netanyahu “walked between the ruins of the houses where these terrible murders took place.”
The Prime Minister also listened to a report from IDF officers currently in southern Israel, including including the commander of the airborne battalion. During a conversation with the military, Netanyahu urged them to prepare for a “new stage.”
The night before, Netanyahu interrupted the Jewish Sabbath to address the nation with a similar message. He told the country at 9:30 pm on Friday live that Israel will destroy Hamas no matter how long it takes.
Israel's Prime Minister announced that the army is hitting enemies “with unprecedented force” but “this is just the beginning.”
“Our enemies have just begun to pay the price. I won't tell you what will happen next. But I tell you that this is just the beginning,” he emphasized.
It is known that Netanyahu has not addressed the nation on Shabbat before, so there were expectations that he would say something particularly dramatic.
However, the content of his short speech boiled down to a promise to take retribution on his enemies.
“We will never forget the atrocities that our enemies committed, and we will never forgive. And we will never allow the world or anyone “to forget these cruelties that have not been inflicted on the Jewish people for many decades,” he assured.
Recall that the Israel Defense Forces are preparing for the next stages of the war against Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip and are calling on Palestinians in the north to evacuate.< /p>
