According to a high-ranking commander, this is enough until reinforcements from NATO allies arrive.
Estonia has stated that its army will be able to withstand a Russian attack for two weeks before NATO support arrives.
This statement was made by a senior commander in the Estonian Armed Forces, Mati Tikerpuu, told El País, as reported by Yahoo.
“A NATO country that shares a land border with Russia would be able to withstand an invasion for several weeks,” said the commander of one of Estonia's two army brigades.
In his opinion, this is enough until reinforcements from NATO allies arrive.
The publication noted that Estonia shares a border with Russia. In 2024, its defense spending will be more than 3% of GDP.
“The Baltic states have strengthened their defenses due to concerns that Russia's aggression could turn against them,” the report says.
Recall that Foreign Affairs assessed whether Russia would dare to go to war against NATO.
