In the Rivne region, as a result of an accidental explosion of a grenade, two men were killed. For a long time they were roommates.
The incident took place in Zdolbuniv on the evening of 10 February. Frightened neighbors, who were the first to hear the explosion, ran to the house of 40-year-old Sergei and his friend, 47-year-old Vitaly.
In the room where the explosion occurred, the entire floor was covered in blood, and the walls were cut with shrapnel. One of the men had his head almost completely torn off, while the other lay bloody and without an arm.
“There was a terrible explosion. I thought it was someone's boiler that exploded. I looked at myself – nothing, called the neighbors – nothing. We started shouting out the window: Sergey, Sergey, but no one responds. I looked out the window – and there the two of them were lying, – the neighbor recalls.
After what they saw, the villagers immediately called the police. They told the investigators that the men had lived together for the past few years, although they had their own families.

It turned out that one of the comrades left three children, and the other two. Both men of the wife were kicked out of the house, and together they began to live with Sergei.
– They drank a lot, drank. They may have been like doves, sorry for the expression. Maybe they were lovers. He, Seryozhka, has three children, and this one, they say, has two. That one wife kicked out of the house, that she kicked the other out of the house. So they lived here, – one of the neighbors admitted.
In the house where Sergey and Vitaly lived, experts found about a dozen rounds of ammunition and fragments of an RGD-5 combat grenade. Neighbors say that the men have never seen weapons.
The police clarified that none of the dead served in the Ukrainian army, and they had no experience in the ATO / JFO. Where they took the cartridges and the grenade will be found out in the near future.
The investigation into the death of two comrades continues, but the main version is an accident. It seems that the dead dismantled the grenade or simply played with it without thinking how dangerous it was.
