Tech companies argue that collecting data for targeted ads poses no threat to users. However, as it turned out, there is a whole industry that deals with the disclosure of identity based on this data.
Media outlets write that industry experts associate mobile advertising IDs (MAIDs), which are collected by applications, with the user's full name, address, and other personal information.
Such services are provided, for example, by the technology company FullContact. She has information on the profiles of more than 275 million adults in the United States. It is not known whether the company collects identifying information with the consent of people or not.
Another such company identifies the full name, physical address and telephone numbers, email addresses and IP addresses of users.
