“We have run out of money”: The White House urgently appealed to the US Congress for assistance to Ukraine

Without funding, Kyiv's military efforts to defend itself against the Russian Federation could grind to a halt.

Director of the US Office of Management and Budget (a department under the executive office of the US President) Shalanda Young sent an urgent letter to Congress about the need to approve aid to Ukraine.

AP reports this.

The letter released by the White House noted that cutting off funding and weapons for the Ukrainians would “bring Ukraine to its knees on the battlefield,” not only jeopardizing its gains, but also “increasing the likelihood of Russian military victories.”

She added that the US has already run out of money that it used to support the Ukrainian economy, and “if the Ukrainian economy falls, they will not be able to continue fighting, there will be a complete stop.”

“We are out of money – and almost out of time,” the letter says.

Let us remind you that a bill on assistance for Ukraine and Israel may be adopted in the United States Congress before the end of the year.

And the White House announced assistance to Ukraine in the winter, namely, strengthening air defense, ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure, and strengthening the stability of Ukraine’s energy network – the three main areas of US support planned in the winter.
