Washington and 36 states file antitrust lawsuit against Google

by alex

The US capital Washington and 36 states have filed a lawsuit against Google in a California court for violating antitrust laws on Google Play, Politico reports. They want to challenge the 30% commission on the app store.

Google denies the allegations and believes the plaintiffs' demands will increase costs for small developers and make the app store less secure. According to the corporation, they are acting in the best interests of a small number of large developers who want to use a Google product, but not pay for it.

Earlier, state authorities have already filed antitrust lawsuits against Google. They relate to the dominance of the search market and the online advertising market.

At the end of June, the US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee approved preliminary draft laws aimed at limiting the dominant market position of leading technology companies.

About the bill – in the material of “Kommersant” “The deputies did not like the dominance of the Internet.”
