In 2026 – Warner Bros. will release the first of a new series of films in the universe of “The Lord of the Rings” by J. Tolkien.

The original title of the film was “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Golum.” The original films' director, Peter Jackson, is working on it. Andy Serkis, who played the role of Golum himself in the trilogy, will play the main role in the new film. There were no other casting announcements. The project is currently in the early stages of script development.
Note that there are already several fan-made amateur films “The Hunt for Golum” on the Internet, made by Tolkienists – fans of John Tolkien’s work.
