The electronics retailer MediaMarkt is starting a large sales campaign. More products than ever before should be extremely discounted for 14 days.
From Monday to February 13, the electronics chain MediaMarkt is offering discounts on tens of thousands of products, from mega televisions to smartphones, from coffee machines to vacuum cleaners. The company cites the reason that the warehouses are completely overcrowded due to “the ongoing lockdown and the associated market closings”. But to make room for the latest trends of the coming season, everything has to be sold at “bargain prices”.
The campaign has been running in the online shop at www.mediamarkt.at since January 31 and continues until February 13. According to MediaMarkt, it is the “biggest technology sale of all time”. “We are facing the current challenge that the products in our warehouses are piling up to the ceiling. Even if our online business works very well, we are by far not able to sell all the products that were originally intended for our 53 markets,” said Richard Zweimüller, Sales Manager at MediaMarkt Austria.
In fact, a look at the product categories reveals juicy discounts on computers, washing machines, televisions and the like. Purchasing despite closed branches works like this: The desired products are selected and paid for in the online shop, and they can then be picked up at the nearest store with the collection confirmation.
