A high-ranking representative of Western intelligence said that if the Russian Federation decides to attack Ukraine again, the conflict could go deeper into Europe.
– Let's not be blind. If Russia initiates any scenario (against Ukraine – Ed. ), it also initiates actions against NATO members … It would be foolish to think that the war can be limited to one nation, – said an intelligence official on condition of anonymity.
These statements are confirmed by the British Defense Headquarters.
So, the head of staff, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin said that in the event of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the consequences will be such, & # 8220; which Europe has not seen since the Second World War & # 8221;.
The build-up of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border continues
Despite statements by NATO and America about new tough economic sanctions in the event of a new Russian attack on Ukraine, the Russian Federation does not stop building up its forces.
Nevertheless, a senior official considers the current situation rather stable than dramatic.
Western intelligence estimates the number of Russian troops on the border at 100 thousand troops, and according to it, Russia has deployed tanks and artillery near Ukraine and in the occupied Ukrainian territories
According to Washington's assumptions, by the end of January next year, their number may almost double – to 175 thousand.
An anonymous Western official claims that if Russia decided to attack Ukraine now, it would succeed. But at the same time, its troops lack a number of important elements:
full logistics;
- ammo stocks;
- field hospitals;
- blood banks.
Western intelligence reports that pressure is slowly increasing. At the same time, American officials indicated that there was more misinformation on the social networks of the Russian Federation.
What is expected from the war between Ukraine and Russia
A representative of Western intelligence clarified: if The Russian Federation will launch a full-scale attack on Ukraine, Europe should expect a large number of migrants.
– We may have a very large number of refugees. One can objectively expect that the number of deaths will be high, as will the destruction in Ukraine, – he said.
The war in Donbass has already claimed 14 thousand lives, and another 1.4 million people have become forced migrants, he recalled.
In addition, the Russian Federation may resort to cyber or hybrid war against NATO member countries, as well as physical attacks.
If the war continues to unfold, then all these consequences will become more widespread , he said.
American President Joe Biden, against the backdrop of growing tension, had a conversation with the Ukrainian head Vladimir Zelensky, a few days before that, on December 7, he spoke with Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky said that Biden briefed him on the results of negotiations with the Russian president, assured him of support and confirmed that the United States would assist Ukraine in strengthening its defenses.
The American president also confirmed his readiness to impose tough sanctions against the Russian Federation in the event of an invasion.
